Exeter CVS and Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum have been successful in becoming the Regional Take part Champions and Development Fund managers for the South West region. This means we will be promoting activities to promote local involvement in democracy and active citizenship in 6 Local Authority areas across the region.
The project is funded by the Department for Community and Local Government and administered by the Community Development Foundation.
We will be training 9 Tutors across the region to deliver ALAC courses in their own areas, supporting them to design and deliver ALAC courses for 6 specific communities in Poole; Weston super Mare; Swindon; Gloucestershire; Devon and Bristol. The areas receiving the support will be identified by Local Authority Community and Engagement Officers and will be delivered through third sector partners in each area.
The project will also be working with Equalities South West to deliver ALAC support and training to their emerging sub regional and regional network members and partner organisations.
