A range of accessible Take Part Exeter ‘How To’ Guides and an online directory of opportunities for participation for active citizens
Take Part Exeter provided accessible information on opportunities for community involvement.
‘How To’ Guides intended to break down barriers on the information available for citizen participation and influence, enabling citizens to quickly ascertain whether a particular role would be appropriate for them. The roles and responsibilities of civic roles were outlined, along with the skills and training required for the role, the time commitment, the application process and the next steps to take, with local contact details. In addition to citizen governor roles, guides were composed about democratic processes and guidance for community activism.
The guides applied the Take Part principles of being brief and using accessible language.
