Online directory of community involvement opportunities

An online directory of over 75 ways people can take part in community or civic life in Exeter has been created as part of the legacy of the project.This directory is available on the Exeter CVS website here and contains direct links to sites for further information. The opportunities, which include setting up a community group and taking part in a local government consultation are categorised:

Take Part Partner Seminar 2009
At the Take Part Launch local active citizens and representatives of local authorities debated about how they could work together to remove barriers to community involvement. More >

Big Society Conference 2010
Take Part Exeter co-facilitated this regional event, by examining the role of active citizenship in the Big Society agenda. ‘Speaking Up’ learners delivered a presentation about the importance of funding active learning. More >

How to become a Custody Visitor

health and wellbeing of people in police custody, and to make sure they know their rights.Other roles with the Police Authority include Police Dog Welfare Visitors, and independent panel members.
